About Us... Clare's Saddlery - Horse Equipment & Supplies in High Spen, Rowlands Gill
Based in High Spen Rowlands Gill, Clare's Saddlery sells an wide-range of horse-feed & supplements, riding clothes & accessories including riding hats and body protectors as well as tack and grooming equipment to horse and pony owners throughout the North-East.

We also supply high-quality, competitively priced small livestock and pet-food and accessories; including non-GM poultry food, to smallholders throughout the region.

Open seven days a week, with parking to the rear of the shop, all of the staff at Clare's Saddlery are experienced horse owners and are always happy to help and advise on all aspects of horse care and animal husbandry.

Clare's Saddlery Ltd was opened in 2004 by Clare Welsh. An experienced rider Clare has over 30 years experience of horses and equine care; beginning with her first pony Sparkle at the age of 12. From there Clare went on to compete in events throughout the North-East of England before switching her attention to horse-breeding.

In addition to her love of horses, Clare now owns a small-holding of her own and all of the pictures on the site are of the animals she owns!

Just like humans, different horses will require a different diet at different times in their lives. At Clare's Saddlery we understand that what suits one horse or pony might not be right for another which is why we stock a wide-range of leading brands of horse and pony feeds including non-GM feeds and hard-to-get brands such as Thunderbrook. Suppliers in regular stock include: Baileys, Dodson & Horrell, Allan & Page, Dengie, Rowan & Barbary, Top Spec and Horsehage.
We are also happy to order in other brands on your behalf on request. For larger orders or hard-to-carry goods, a parking and loading area is availble at the rear of the shop.

From time to time it might be necessary to add a food supplement to your horse's feed mix to ensure that they get a well-balanced diet. Horse feed supplements are used to add additional nutrients such as vitamins and minerals or extra protein that your horse or pony might be lacking. Feed supplements can be of benefit to pregnant mares, foals, older horses or horses who are particularly active or are recovering from illness or injury.
At Clare's Saddlery we stock a huge range of the most popular feed supplements and equine vitamins including non-GM and herbal supplements from leading brands. Our suppliers include i: NAF, Global Herbs, Gold Label and Equilibrium. We are also always happy to order any supplement you may require on your behalf.

Should you require an item that we don't hold in stock, we're always happy to order specific items or brands on your behalf.

Poultry Food & Bedding
Whether you keep a few chickens in your back garden or have a larger flock as part of your smallholding, our poultry food and bedding will help keep your hens, ducks and geese happy and healthy.
We stock an extensive range of poultry food and supplies including chick crumbs, growers and layers pellets. We also supply organic and non-GM poultry food from leading suppliers at competitive prices. Brands currently in-stock in our shop include, Fancy Feed, Lloyds and Verm-x. As poultry owners ourselves we are always happy to advise you on the most appropriate poultry food for your needs or to order in alternative brands on your behalf should you require it.
