About us Total Concrete Products are based in a quarry in Cheshire and manufacture a range of prestressed concrete panels to suit a wide variety of applications. We strongly believe we manufacture an excellent quality product which is competitively priced within the marketplace.

Prestressed concrete panels are made by pouring wet concrete into our heated manufacturing beds, complete with self vibration, using minimum C40 concrete with straight Portland cement and 9.3mm pre-stressing wire which has been tensioned. The following day when the concrete has cured and reached the required strength, the strand is de-tensioned.

After the tension is released it is transferred to the concrete as compression by static friction and gives the panels additional strength. This enables them to flex under load without detriment.

Prestressed members are crack-free under working loads and, as a result, look better and are more watertight, providing better corrosion protection for the steel. Many projects find that prestressed concrete provides the lowest overall cost, considering production and lifetime maintenance.

Usage of prestressed products has seen a dramatic increase over previous years, particularly among those utilising steel-framed buildings, who are attracted to concrete panels as they can be erected with relative speed and are aesthetically pleasing. Concrete panels are versatile, they are commonly used for all types of agricultural buildings, warehouses, industrial units, silage clamps, recycling/waste storage, general storage, retaining walls etc. Prestressed concrete wall panels can withstand the most extreme weather conditions and will stand up to many decades of constant use.
