Welcome
We’d love to see you!
Our home, architecture, gardens and history are here for you to enjoy. We offer public open days on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays during April to September or you are more than welcome to pre-book a private group visit at any time throughout.
Visits to the House
The highlight of any visit to the house is The Great Hall. Here you’ll find the Great Organ, arguably one of England’s most important 17th century musical instrument. Other rooms open to visitors during guided tours include the beautiful oak-panelled dining room, the chapel, the Minstrels’ Gallery, the Chinese room, the Number 10 bedroom, and the old nursery.
The rooms all display original furniture alongside paintings and portraits that bring to life the story of the house and its occupants. Definitely worth a visit!
Visits to the Gardens
On public open days, you can wander around our gardens and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Depending on when you visit, there are seasonal treats in store… the carpet of bluebells that comes into bloom in May, or the sights and smells of The Rose Garden in the summer. If you’re up for a bit of fun, the Maze poses a challenge for adults and children alike!
Tea Room
Our traditional tea room serves a delicious selection of teas and fresh homemade cakes for you to enjoy. It‘s open on public days, but we can also make arrangements if you’d like to join us after a pre-booked tour.
Disabled Facilities
We have accessible toilets in both the Hall and The Hunting Lodge, where there is also a lift. However, wheelchair access to the House and Gardens is limited so please get in touch for more information.
Car Parking
We have ample free car parking in the grounds so you’ll have no problems reaching us.
